Amazon EC2 Firefox extension goes open source

EC2 Firefox Extension is now open sourced, the extension which aims to make Amazon EC2 usage easier. From the extension it’s very easy to manage and launch EC2 instances. The extension is now available on Sourceforge under the name Elasticfox and under the Apache License V2.0. What this extension do : List available AMIs (Amazon Machine Images) List your running instances Launch new instances of an AMI Manage security groups and launch permissions associated with your instances

2007 Holiday Doodle – Updated

Remember The Milk, Gmail-based task manager

This is another amazing Firefox extension which let you manage your task right in your Gmail. Remember the milk for Gmail (or RTM) provide the possibility to add new tasks, complete, postpone, and edit tasks. Best of all, it connect tasks to your Emails, Contacts or Google Calendar events. You can automatically add tasks for starred messages or specific labels… Very innovative way to get your tasks done in Gmail.

Google reader now offer Sharing items with friends

Google Reader have just been linked to Google Talk to offer the possibility to share items with your friends. A new share icon have been added in bottom of each post. All your friends are able to subscribe to your shared items and so read stuff that you like or recommend for reading. Google is boosting its services with sharing capabilitis and it’s great to see talk integration after Gmail also inside Google Reader. Feature available only in english at the current time. Once you’ve logged into Reader and been notified of the change, these friends will be able to see your shared items in the Reader left-hand navigation area under “Friends’ shared items”

QualiPSo consortium organizes the first international conference on Open Source Software quality

Brussels, 13 December 2007 – Faithful to its aim to foster the development and use of Open Source Software (OSS) to help industries in the global race for growth, on 16 and 17 January 2008 the international QualiPSo consortium is organizing its first international conference: “Fostering trust and quality of Open Source Software systems”. Organized in Rome, under the patronage of the European Commission, the QualiPSo 2008 conference will bring together international authorities and experts on OSS trends, reveal the first results of research carried out by the QualiPSo consortium, and be a forum for debate about the drivers for encouraging trust in OSS. It will approach Open Source from three complementary angles: political, economical and technological, covering: – Business models and strategies in OSS – Legal issues in Open Source – Trustworthiness of OSS products and processes – Interoperability in the area of Open Source – Networks of OSS Competence Centers – Next-generation software forges.
