Koobface Now Using Christmas Theme

Websense Security Labs(TM) ThreatSeeker(TM) Network has discovered that the Koobface malware campaign is now using a Christmas theme. Recent developments by Koobface have included use of Google Reader. The Koobface Web site offers a video posted by ‘SantA’. The usual ruse of requiring a codec to watch the video is used, to encourage the user to install and run a file called setup.exe (SHA1:a2046fc88ab82abec89e150b915ab4b332af924a). This file is currently detected by 16 out of 41 antivirus products according to VirusTotal. To view the details of this alert Click here

Google reader now offer Sharing items with friends

Google Reader have just been linked to Google Talk to offer the possibility to share items with your friends. A new share icon have been added in bottom of each post. All your friends are able to subscribe to your shared items and so read stuff that you like or recommend for reading. Google is boosting its services with sharing capabilitis and it’s great to see talk integration after Gmail also inside Google Reader. Feature available only in english at the current time. Once you’ve logged into Reader and been notified of the change, these friends will be able to see your shared items in the Reader left-hand navigation area under “Friends’ shared items”
